Shawn Thomas Slack

of Palermo, Ca. passed away June 12th, 2026.

Shawn was a timber faller for Ridge logging, McCutcheon logging. And J & J Logging and was well respected by his counterparts in the industry during the years he spent honing his craft. He spent many seasons working with Cal Fire and U.S. Forrest Service falling timber and handling fire mitigation.

He was greatly loved by his dad and momma, and he knew exactly how much by their commitment to each other and dependability he was shown by both of them throughout his life. Shawn loved his family and was fiercely loyal to the ones he held closest to his heart. He loved all things outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. The walls of his home told of the many early mornings spent waiting for daybreak – a bow or rifle in hand, eager to add yet another mount to his collection. All with his most loyal companions, his dogs Ruger and Zippy by his side.

He had a laugh that was truly contagious, and a grin that conveyed what he was thinking without saying a word.

He leaves behind his father Tom, and his stepmom Melinda, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his Momma Becky Slack, his Aunt Allona, Grandparents Terry and Gladys Slack, Robert and Beverly Forkner, Uncles Raymond Oswalt, and David Forkner.
