Obituary of Phillip John Strawn

Phillip John Strawn 76 ,of Cherokee California passed away in his home in Cherokee  California, September 16, 2021 after a long struggle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.  

Phil was born in Paradise on August 21,1945 to Margaret Doonan and Robert Strawn. He was raised by his grandparents Laura and Earl Strawn.

He attended schools in paradise and lived in paradise until 1979 when he moved to Cherokee Ca.where he lived until his death.  

 Phil spent 40 years working in his own business installing draperies and window coverings . He also worked on Oroville Dam.

Phil loved fishing, hunting, sports and outdoor activities.

In 1978 he married Susan McNair Holtz.

In 1979 they moved to Cherokee Ca where they raised rabbits chickens, geese, horses ,llamas and sheep. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents, 3 step brothers John, Robert (Bobby), Thomas Ludwig and Step son Edward Holtz.

He is survived by his wife Susan Strawn, children Eric Strawn and Laura Bass , step children Christopher and David Holtz ,His Step sister Christine Southworth, brothers Ron, Ken, Rick Strawn, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Phil will be missed for his kindness, love of life, laughter,  thoughtfulness and likability.
