At the age of 7 she settled with her family in Ashland, Oregon where she grew up and attended school. It was in Ashland where she met and married Stan Harding on June 9th, 1956. The first 9 years of their marriage they lived in Southern California. They relocated to Sabastopol and then Central Valley before settling in Paradise in 1966.

Millie worked as a receptionist for the Paradise Alliance Church for 25 years. As a member there, she also served in various volunteer positions. She also volunteered at the Paradise library, working in the adult literacy program. After her retirement, she worked several years providing in-home care for the elderly.

Millie enjoyed baking, gardening, reading and traveling. Spending time with family and friends was a special joy to her. She was a lifelong animal lover, and had trouble turning down a cat or dog in need.
