Michael Thomas Barrett

It is with profound sadness, that the family of Michael Thomas Barrett, announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the age of 81 years.

Mike is remembered by those who dearly loved him. 

His wife of 22 years, Suzanne Barrett; his daughter Jennifer Barrett Herrera (Daniel) and his blended family children, Richard Graeff (Mary), Steven Graeff (Michelle), Nathan Graeff, Tami McPhun and Cassandra White.

His many grandchildren: Kaitlyn aka Harley, Olivia and Riley Boehmer; Chantel Cornellier; Austin and Ethan Graeff; Tyler, Nicholas, Jacob, Brianna Graeff and Chloe Graeff Long; Alexandra Saurez, Katelyn McPhun, Kimberly Yokom (Natalie) and Robert McPhun; Jeremiah and Isabella Ingram.

He is also survived by his brother, LeRoy Barrett; his nephew, Patrick Barrett (Dawn) and nieces, LeeAnn Schiltz (Jeff), Kristine Barrett Dirnberger (Steve) and Kathy Barrett Hoffmann (Jeff).

Preceded in passing by his parents, Edward and Bernice Barrett.

Mike was born and raised in Hibbing, Minnesota.  He began his lifelong career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, becoming an integral part of the staff at Oroville Hospital, where he served with dedication and compassion for 49 years. 

In the late 70’s, “Mikey” could often be found at MMM Speedway, living out his passion for racing stock cars.  Years later, his love of music led him to the stage, playing guitar with the Jack Allen Band at the former BJ’s Lounge.

Always ready with a joke and a smile to share, Mike was known in his community as an exceptional man – a devoted friend, a true professional, and someone who brought joy and laughter wherever he went.

He will be deeply missed by many and forever loved by all who knew him.
