It is with deep love and remembrance that we share the obituary of Melvin Campbell. He was born in Moore, Oklahoma on June 27, 1939 to Joseph and Hazel (Groff) Campbell. He was the youngest of five children. Belva (Louie) Sparks deceased, Jeannine (Richard deceased) Conrad, Raymond (Carole) Campbell, and Dorothy (Ron) Michaelis.
Melvin lived in Paradise for 60 years. He first worked at Larry's Barbershop and later opened his
own shop. The decade of long hair forced him to seek other employment at Stratton's Market.
Eventually he went back to barbering at the TeePee Barbershop and continued until the Campfire.
He told people he got "Fired."
Melvin was a minister at the Paradise Church of the Brethren for 29 years. On the day of the Campfire, he was preparing the church and yard for a memorial service. The fire overcame the church and required him to evacuate.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane Stratton Campbell. He is also survived by his pride and joy, his four children and their offspring; Joe Campbell; Todd (Brandie) Campbell with grandchildren William and Bridgette (Daniel) Schatzle and great grandchildren George and Henry Schatzle; Susan Campbell Sorensen with grandchildren Dallas, Harley, and Kimber;
Kristen Campbell Scarberry with grandchildren Alicia (Rocco) Monte and Marty and great grandchild Max Monte. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
To know Melvin was to know his dedication to God and serving him. Matthew 25:21 "Well done good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things. I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of the Lord."
Melvin requested a party. His Celebration of Life is to be held November 30, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.
