Mary M. Anderson passed away September 28, 2025 after a short illness at Roses and Ivy Elder Care with the assistance of Butte County Hospice. She will be cremated and a small gathering next fall will occur for the spreading of her ashes.
Mary was born on April 26, 1939 to Margaret M. Kubius and Clarence C. Schulte in Cedar Rapids Iowa. She was primarily raised in Cedar Rapids. After graduating from a private Episcopalian Girls High School she attended University of Illinois until getting married and having 2 children.
Mary and her husband moved several times from Ames, Iowa to Richardson, Texas and Sunnyvale, California. Mary finally settled down moving to Paradise, California in 1973 with her daughter, where she resided for 52 years until her death.
She was most proud of her work as a social worker for the HIV/AIDS project in the 1980's. She could be often be seen on Lake Oroville as Houseboating was her most enjoyed pastime. Playing cards and games were enjoyed even up to last months of her life.
Mary is survived by her sister, in Washington, Julie (Dallas) Jones, daughter in Mississippi, Jacqueline (Alex) Anderson Carrillo and son, in Colorado, Scott (Tracey) Anderson. She had 7 grandchildren, Wayne, Justin (Cara) and Sadie Carrillo, Ashley (Brad) Carrillo McCollough and Allyson, Kristen and Alexa Anderson. She had 5 Great Grandchildren, Kalli, Lillian, Walter, Diana and Elias Carrillo and one Great Great Grandson Asher Pinot.
She is also survived by one niece Megan Schulte and one Great niece Indica Mutchler in Cedar Rapids.
Mary is proceeded in death by parents Margaret Kubius and Clarence Schulte and brother Carl F. Schulte.
