Mark H De La Gardie, 61, was a victim of the North Complex West Zone fire and passed away on September 14th, 2020 in Berry Creek, California. Mark was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on August 7th, 1959 to Joyce Hultquist De La Gardie and Elizabeth May Clements. He attended school in Novi, Michigan before enlisting in the Army at the age of 17. Mark served 6 years in the army and after leaving the army he maintained various jobs in northern California and Arizona working as a helicopter turbine Engine Mechanic.
Mark had a gentle spirit and a big heart but was tough when he needed to be. He enjoyed many hobbies such as doing puzzles, playing chess, guns, knives, motorcycles, off road vehicles, and music. He was good with his hands, mechanically inclined, and could fix anything; often referred to as “MacGyver” by his friends and coworkers. He always took pride in everything he did.
Mark is survived by his two children, Martin (Melissa) De La Gardie of Brentwood, CA and Jenna (Russel) Frans of Spokane, WA; brother Terry De La Gardie of Berry Creek, CA; sister Renee De La Gardie of Oxnard, CA; 7 grandchildren, Mathew, Jorden, Alexis, Kaylin, Owen, Ares, and Salem and many nieces and nephews in Texas, California and Washington. Mark is predeceased by his parents and two sisters Marsha and Sandra.
