Lois Marie Cain Stanton, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on May 18, 2022 in Oroville, California. She was born October 23, 1933 in Kearney, Nebraska to biological parents Luzen and Earl Ellsworth; adopted January 23, 1934 and raised by her loving parents Lola and Chester Cain. Lois was a proud graduate of Boise High School, beloved wife and mother.
Lois started teaching piano at 18 years old, working with approximately 100 students for over 60 years. Lois played the piano for the Spanish Baptist Church in Salinas, California for 25 years; was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Boise Idaho, and the First Christian Church in Salinas, California. Recently, she had been a member at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Oroville, California.
Lois worked as a Secretary at Monterey County Office of Education in the Educational Services Department from 1967 until retiring in 1992. She remained an employee there until moving to Oroville, California in 2006. She then enjoyed volunteering part time as the school secretary for Oroville’s Adventist School for 5 years.
Lois was well known and loved by many. She could entertain by reciting from memory hundreds of jokes, poems, songs and scriptures. Lois was a historian of family genealogy and treasured her correspondence with Cole Elementary, Boise High School classmates and friends met while traveling throughout the country.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Martha Lynne Olson Storrs; two grandchildren, Amanda Meyer and O’Ryan McNabb; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor McNabb, Marilynne McNabb, Laurel Olson, Matthew Rhyne, O’Riley McNabb, Mason McNabb, Grace Jones; one great-great-grandson, Onyx Ramsey; two half-sisters, Tonetta Ellsworth and Alberta Skaggs and two stepsons, Adrian Stanton and Aaron Stanton.
Lois was proceeded in death by her parents, first husband Dale B. Olson, and second husband Duane Jack Stanton.

Celebration of Life services will be held at Scheer Memorial Chapel in Oroville on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:00 am in Lois’s honor. Graveside services immediately following with Chaplain Bronson Pittman officiating.
