Linda Faye Perkins McElhaney, Age 74, of Oroville, went home to be with Jesus
Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2026. She was born on November 1, 1951, in
Oroville, daughter of the late Frank and Martha Perkins of Oroville, CA.
Linda grew up in Oroville, and was married to her husband of 54 years, Robert (Bobby,
Bob) McEhaney in Oroville on November 5, 1971. She was a loving wonderful wife,
living together with Bob in Oroville, Willow Creek, Visalia, Auburn, Greenville, and
again in Oroville.
She Loved Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, gave her heart to him as a young child;
She attended the Free Trinity Church AKA (C Street), as a child and young adult; this
is the same Church she was a member of at her death.
Jesus gave her a heart for music, and a heart to be a mother.
Linda was faithful and true to her callings: She played the piano and organ and sang in
many of the Churches here in Oroville, Visalia, and Greenville; she loved the old gospel
songs.
But most of all was the mother’s heart, Jesus gave her. The Lord enabled her to Love
many, many children and disabled adults; at the age of twenty-one she became a foster
mother to five young, neglected children, and for the next 40 years she continued to
foster children and care for disabled adults. During these years she gave birth to two
sons, one daughter, and adopted three Sons and three daughters. She loved going
camping and fishing, spending precious time with her family and grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband Robert, five sons: Kirby, Joshua and daughter-in-law
Kristen, David, John, and Trevor; Three Daughters: Cynthia and son-in-law Jared Pew,
Teaera McElhaney, Heather and son-in-law Andrew Carney. One Sister, Nancy Means
of Bixby, Oklahoma sixteen grandchildren, two Great grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Martha; her daughter, Maggie
McElhaney; two sisters, MaryJoe McCoy and Joyce Marie Good; Two brothers; James
Perkins and William Perkins
A celebration of life will be at The River of Life Church, 3210 Oro Dam Blvd East
January 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be her pastor of many years, Pastor
Brenda Reed. A potluck reception to follow the service.
