Jody Elaine Jones

Jody Elaine Jones passed unexpectedly the evening of October 5, 2024. Jody was born on
September 28,1956 in Pueblo, Colorado to Thomas Charles Pannunzio and Althea Jane
Brooks. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and public service from
U.C.Davis in 1978. Jody went on to enjoy a 34 year career with CalTrans where she oversaw
road projects all across Northern California. She retired in 2014 allowing her to focus on her
community through her work on the Paradise Town Council. Jody was on the Paradise Town
Council from 2014 - 2022 and served as Mayor 2016 and then again 2018 - 2019 where she
helped lead her community in the wake of the Camp Fire. She was a devoted Christian who
liked to spend her free time tending her garden, hiking, traveling and making memories with her
family and friends.
Jody was a dedicated wife, mother and nonna. She is survived by her loving husband Ron,
sister Terri Bothelo, brother Troy Pannunzio, stepmom Patsy Pannunzio, children James
Lonergan and Erin Longergan, step-children Heather Bullock, Aimee Martin and Rebecca
Jones-Keys, grandchildren William Bullock, Reagan Bullock, Allyssa Bullock, Nate Bullock,
Jake Bullock, Liam Bullock, Cooper Bullock, Caleb Martin, Landon Martin, Zoey Martin, Colton
Martin, Crystal Jones, Dustin Jones, Lexi Jones, Rayne Longergan Abels,  Wayne Lonergan Abels, and Eres Longergan Abels. Preceeded in death by step-son, Eddie Jones.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Paradise Alliance Church in
Paradise, CA. The memorial will begin at 10:30am, with a reception to follow from 12:00pm -
3:00pm.
