Jerry D. Rose
Jerry Dean Rose of Oroville, Ca passed away unexpectedly August 15,2022. He was 71 years old. Jerry was born on June 17, 1951 in Oroville to Vernon Leslie Rose and Margie Louise Rose (Rogers).
Jerry graduated from Kennedy High School in Fremont, Ca where he enjoyed running track and cross country. After graduating high school Jerry enlisted in the army joining his brother Bill in serving our country during Viet Nam war. Jerry served for 3 years. During that time he received the National Defense service medal and earned the sharpshooter w/rifle badge. His last overseas tour was in Okinowa, Japan. After his honorable discharge from the army, Jerry came back home to Fremont.
He worked for over 25 years at the NUMMI/Tesla plant in Fremont as part of the warehouse team. Jerry loved the Bay Area sports teams-Oakland A’s, S.F. 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors. He continued to root for his teams even after moving back to Oroville in 2014 upon retirement. Jerry loved Oroville and enjoyed his walks along the trails, visiting Oroville Dam, and meeting new people.
Jerry’s passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who he always helped at a moments notice whenever needed. He was a great movie and shopping buddy too. Jerry is at peace joining his parents and 5 older siblings in heavenly family gatherings now.
Jerry is survived by two brothers and their families, nieces, nephews, great mieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
There will be a memorial celebration of Jerry’s life at a later date.
