Gertrude Emma Conley

Gertrude (Trude) Emma Conley quietly passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Auburn, CA at the age of 99.

Trude was born in Seward, Nebraska on December 2, 1925, to Floyd and Anna Herrold, she was one of twelve children.  She and her family moved to Kansas and in1940 moved to Springfield, CA. 

Trude met Jack Erwin Conley in Porterville, CA and married on June 10, 1941. They had 5 children.  Raeanna, Charlene, Janet (spouse Dave Perkins), Jacqueline and Melissa.  The family moved to Oroville, CA in 1951. 

Trude’s primary job was raising her daughters and running the household, which she did very well.  Trude was very involved in the girls’ activities as a school volunteer, 4-H, Brownie Leader, driver for field trips, and an all-around chauffeur.  Many of her daughters’ friends have stories about how she helped them. She was very creative and pursued many different craft hobbies over the years.  Trude made most of her clothes and clothes for the older girls and grandchildren.  She was a phenomenal cook and an outstanding baker.  Trude assisted her husband, Jack, in his business as the bookkeeper and later worked for and retired from the County of Butte.  In retirement, Jack and Trude traveled in their motor home and watched two of their grandchildren, Alisha and Crystal. 

Trude was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church for many years where she was also very involved. 

Trude was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings, her husband, Jack in 1990, daughters Jacqueline in 1960, and Janet in 2006, and great-grandson Reece Diaz in 2017.  Her closest brother, Donny, was killed in World War II.

She is survived by daughters, Raeanna Correa (Greg Correa), Charlene Conley, and Melissa Conley, grandchildren Paul Correa (Julie Anderson), Theresa Solis (Pete Bakis), Jeff Correa (Tara Workman), David Perkins-Jain (AJ Jain), Jennifer Sanders (Carey Sanders), Jaime Perkins (Lisa Perkins), Brandon Thorp (Gia Thorp), Jilianne Baxter (Jeff Baxter), Janae Diaz (Jimmy Diaz), Crystal Sant and Alisha Johns (Adam Johns).

Great-grandchildren are Cruz Diaz, Ruby and Pierce Baxter, Lauren and Zach Solis, Libby and Mari Sanders, Dylan Perkins, Aidan and Adalind Perkins-Jain, and Declan Johns.

A service will be held on March 14th, 10:30 a.m. at Scheer Memorial Chapel, 2410 Foothill Blvd Oroville CA
