Edward Lee Klemm known as Ted was born Sept 29,1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Julius Albert Klemm Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Klemm. His two older brothers Alfred Emil and Harlan Karl Klemm preceded him in death.
In 1955 the family moved to Paradise, California when Ted was in second grade.  He later graduated from Paradise High School where he was very active in school sports and student government serving as class president. Ted attended Chico State University and in 1970 received his bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation.  While in high school and college he worked for Paradise Recreation District as a camp counselor, lifeguard and headed teen programs.  After college he was employed by Bank of America and then worked full time as Youth Activity Supervisor for Paradise Parks and Recreation until 1972.  He served in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1974.
Ted was employed with Butte County Mental Health as the Butte County Drug Abuse and Prevention Coordinator for 27 years helping to create and develop many county and  community programs. During this time he also taught classes at Chico State and Butte College.  After retiring from Butte County he spent 3 years as Mental Health Director for Trinity County.  He then went on to be Director of Catholic Social Services of Tehama County.  Ted finished his career working as a manager for Youth for Change in Paradise. His very last retirement job was as the first Uber driver in Chico.
He married Sue Doherty in 1969 and welcomed his daughter, Krissy in 1975.
In 1988, Ted married Marianne Flick and they became a family of five raising his daughter and her two sons in Paradise.  Ted and Marianne moved to Chico in 2003 enjoying three granddaughters and all Chico has to offer.
Ted was always active in the community helping where he could.  He served on many committees and boards, serving as Little League President and coached many of his kids sports teams.  He loved his family and friends, traveling, playing and watching sports, playing cards with his poker group, discussing politics and just living life to the fullest.
Ted is survived by his wife, Marianne Klemm of 34 years, daughter Krissy Letcher and   husband Damon, son Keith Flick and wife Lupe, son Kyle Flick, granddaughters Mariah Letcher, Kyra Letcher and Lilah Letcher and step sister Lorna Cunkle.
The family is honoring Ted’s wishes by not having a formal service. He asked to have people remember him for who he was by doing something nice for someone else. So please remember him with an act of kindness, spreading his caring spirt all around. A private interment will be held at Paradise Cemetery.
