Doyle Sidney McCoy

Doyle McCoy, age 96, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2018. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Scheer Memorial in Oroville, CA. Doyle was born on 12/16/21 in Spur, TX to a family of itinerant farmworkers. As a child, Doyle helped the family pick cotton and carried water up from the creek to help with the laundry the family took in. He served in the Army during World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters. After the war he returned to Texas and worked in the oil fields. Eventually he transitioned into carpentry, which was a passion for the remainder of his life. He was called by God into ministry in the late forties and continued preaching until 1969. When he retired from ministry he continued working in carpentry until 1990. He is survived by his son Darvis McCoy, daughter-in-law Donna McCoy, granddaughter Heather McCoy, and grandson Travis McCoy
