In Loving Memory of Douglas Martin Miller February 10, 1976 – May 10, 2026
Douglas Martin Miller, lovingly known as Doug, passed away on May 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 50 years old. Doug was born on February 10, 1976, in Quincy to Darrell Gene Miller and Shirley Louise Meshell. He grew up alongside his older brother, Larry Wayne Miller, and carried with him a deep sense of loyalty, humor, and compassion throughout his life. Doug was a devoted husband to Shelly Miller, sharing a life built on love, commitment, and family. He proudly helped raise Shelly’s grandchildren, Harold and Maggie May, loving them as his own and leaving lasting memories in their hearts. He was also a loving and dedicated stepfather to Shannon, Rodrick, Robert, Helen, Carolyn, and Jennifer.
Doug believed family was built through love, support, and showing up when it mattered most. His steady presence and caring nature touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He worked at Sierra Pacific for 25 years as a diesel pit operator. Doug was known for having a heart of gold. He was the kind of person who would help anyone in need without hesitation. He loved deeply, laughed often, and remained fiercely loyal to the people he cared about. He was also a passionate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, proudly cheering them on through every season. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Doug’s love, kindness, and strength will continue to live on through his family and all who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
