Paradise, California

Donald (Don) Robinson passed away on May 10, 2021 peacefully in his sleep at his home in Paradise at the age of 82.  He was born on February 24, 1939 in Martinez, California to Nina and Charles Robinson.  He lived in Port Costa until 2011 when he and his family moved to Paradise, California.  He attended school in Port Costa and graduated from John Swett High School in Crockett.  He met Mary Ann Thomas in grade school and they were married on June 20, 1959. They had two boys, Bob and Gene (Lisa) and two granddaughter, Elizabeth ( Cameron ) and Kirsten.  Don is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of 61 years; brother, Rick; sisters, Karen Desmond, Nena Coupar and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded by his parents, Charles and Nina; brother, Charles and a sister Sharon Adams.  Don went to work for PG&E, working in San Francisco and Concord, retiring after 35 years.  He was also a Volunteer Fireman for 15 years and later a Commissioner for 31 years for the Crockett- Carquinez Fire Department.  He volunteered with the Boy Scouts for many years even after his sons achieved their Eagle Scout Badges.  Don enjoyed the outdoors and spent many happy years at their property in Montgomery Creek, fishing, hunting, relaxing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.  Don was very generous and was there to help when someone was in need.  There will be a celebration of life at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to Enloe Medical Hospice, 1390 E. Lassen Avenue, Chico, CA 95973 or Crocket Boy Scouts, in C/O Betty Cecchini; 1 Crolona Heights Drive, Crockett, CA 94525 or the favorite charity of your choice.
