We are saddened to share the news that our loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Dina Aileen Volenski passed away on October 30, 2024. Dina was born February 22, 1965, to Joe and Dixie Rubino, in Panorama City, California. When Dina was six months old the family moved to Paradise California. Dina attended Saint Thomas Moore Catholic School, through 8th grade and later attended Paradise High School, where she was on the flag team and a score keeper for the wrestling team, graduating in 1983. Dina would achieve completing her bachelor's degree later in life. Dina started her work life working for William Sharrett Bookkeeping in Paradise. She would later pursue a career in public service working ten years for the Butte Community College Foundation and then sixteen years for the Town of Paradise finishing as the Town Clerk. In 2022 Dina was named the Municipal Clerk of the Year by the City Clerk’s Association of California for her work during the Camp Fire. Dina met the love of her life Don Volenski April 23, 1993, when he knocked on her door to ask her out. They would later marry September 7, 1996. Dina was also involved for many years in Soroptimist International, first as a member of Soroptimist International of Chico and most recently, Soroptimist International Bidwell Rancho. During her time with Soroptimist Dina was a Club President, District Director, and traveled to various places around the world for Soroptimist conferences and conventions. Dina is survived by her parents, Dixie and Joe (partner Susan), brother Joe, husband, Don, stepchildren Krista (husband James) and Brent, grandchildren Blake and Laina, nieces Sami and Julia, and her beloved dog Dougie. Dina was a powerful uplifting force that will be remembered for her compassion for all, always looking forward and able to find good in every situation. Dina will be missed and is loved by so many.
Mass for Dina will be on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church 767 Elliott Road, Paradise CA 95969. Small reception to follow.
