David Charles Merrill
David passed away with Family at his side on November 4th 2023. He was 81.
He was born June 22 1942 in Spokane Washington to Frank Charles Merrill and Marjorie Louise Seaton.
As a young boy The family moved around quite a bit until finally settling
in Summit City CA in 1956.
David graduated from Central Valley High school in 1960.
He went to work for Kimberley Clark Lumber.
In 1964 he went to work for The California Division of Forestry
(During David’s career with the CDF he was promoted regularly and transferred from Redding to Yreka CA in 1972. Then finally to Magalia CA in 1978. He worked as a Fire Crew Supervisor at Butte Fire Center in Magalia overseeing the California Conservation Corps. He retired from the CDF at rank of Captain in 1987
In the years since retiring he worked at Gottschalks as seasonal help. Then as special projects opening new stores around the country for Uniform Advantage. He Volunteered for Hospice Thrift store and for Butte County Sheriff Dept. in the STARS program
He is predeceased in 1991 by
Wife of 27 years Crystal Rae Merrill
And in 2017 by his younger
Brother Stephen Merrill
He is survived by
Wife of 30 years Linda Jean Merrill of Corning CA

Michael Merrill & Rabbi Greg Kanter
of Charleston SC

Donna & Gary Cooper of Klamath Falls OR
