Darrell (Ozzie) Osborn, born in Walla Walla, Washington, went to Heaven on March 4, 2025 from his
home in Forbestown, California. He is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, Carol, as well as three
daughters and their spouses: Carrie and Kevin Monroe, Renee and Eliel Morales and Ginger and Steven
Magee. He had nine grandchildren: Kyle (Taryn) Monroe, Amanda Monroe, Cristina (Carlos) Cervantes,
Jessika (Coty) Reynolds, Taran (Kelsey) Magee, Josiah (Sophie) Savage Magee, Daniel Magee, and Nolan
(Jenna) Magee. He had seven great grandchildren: Naithen, Jaiden and Cora Cervantes, Clara, Jonah and
Vivian Monroe and Kaia Reynolds. Ozzie was a Navy veteran who served on the USS Cabilldo from 1959-
1963. He worked for the water departments in Upland, El Segundo, Brownsville, and Belmont,
California. Ozzie retired from the water department and moved to Forbestown, California in 1987. He
worked ten years at Mount Hope Bible Camp, six years at Brownsville Medical Center, as well as his own
Osborn’s Sign Shop. He was an active part of his community, including making several community signs,
volunteering at the Yuba Feather Historical Museum, the Hilltop Gang and Challenge Community
Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Challenge Community Church, Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11 AM. It is located at 10080 La Porte Rd, Challenge, CA 95925
