It is with a heavy heart that the Pierce family announces the passing of Daniel D. Pierce (63), who died unexpectedly on September 15th, 2023 in his home.
Daniel was born and raised in Watsonville, CA on August 25th, 1960, to Lee and Reba Pierce along with his three siblings Jerry, Glen and Diane. They later moved to Oroville where they owned and operated the family business, Norca Precision Machining. Fresh out of college, he continued working alongside his father, Lee, and remained dedicated to the business and trade until his retirement in 2020.
Daniel and his wife Terri E. Anderson of Richvale, CA were married in 1985, and together raised a son and daughter, Michael and Lori.
Daniel loved his family and his work. Upon moving to Oroville, Dan studied at Butte College to become a machinist for his family’s business. He prided himself on the quality of the parts he manufactured, which were used all across the U.S in both private and government industries. Always young in mind and spirit Daniel introduced his children to the world of sci-fi/action movies, and was always down for catching the newest Star Wars release at the theater. His favorite activities also included scenic drives with son, attending rock concerts, relaxing by the river, water skiing/boogie boarding on the lake, playing baseball/lob ball, and watching and attending Dallas Cowboys or San Francisco Giants games.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and brother Glen.
Daniel is survived by wife Terri Pierce, son Michael Pierce, daughter Lori Mattos, grandson Jakob Hungerford, and siblings Jerry and Diane Pierce.
A remembrance service will be held Friday, September 22nd, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Scheer Memorial Chapel, 2410 Foothill Blvd, Oroville, CA 95966. Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories.
