Carolyn Kay Hill gained her angel wings in the early morning on Thursday, April 24,
2025.
Carolyn was born on September 21, 1955 in Anchorage, Alaska. She was raised by
her parents, Glen and Vera Booth, in Monterey, California.
Carolyn was from the Athabasken tribe which is also known as Dena’ina or
Tanaina people from the interior of Alaska. She was very proud of her Alaskan
heritage.
She married Michael Hill in Paradise on July 24, 1982.
In 1988, she and Michael moved to Northern California where she found passion
in bringing people joy through floral arrangements and even owned her own
floral shop in Paradise for 6 years.
She was the most loving wife, mom and Grammy, and her greatest joy was
spoiling those closest to her. She loved hosting her family for holidays and one of
her favorite traditions was watching all of her grandkids search for the golden egg
every Easter. Another cherished tradition was the annual back to school shopping
spree where she made sure all of her grandkids were equipped with everything
necessary to start each new school year followed by lunch out at a favorite
restaurant.
Carolyn was always a calming presence, but had a fighting spirit. She overcame
numerous obstacles in her 69 years, including surviving a brain aneurysm in 2003
and narrowly escaping the 2018 Camp Fire.
She loved her family and friends, but she may have loved her animals even more!
She always had plenty of dogs and cats, and even a horse or two to care for. But
that wasn’t enough! She left carrots ad apples out for the deer, she made friends
with an opossum, and she could never bring herself to kill a spider.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Michael, her son Ronald, her step-son
Brandon, her daughters-in-law, Heather and Sara, her grandchildren, Daniel,
Mathew, Nikolas, Irleyn, Jackson, Everett, Nathan, and Secily and many relatives
living in Alaska.
We will celebrate our Angel Carolyn at a graveside burial with family only on Friday,
May 2 nd at 2:30 at the Paradise Cemetery followed by a celebration of life at the
Casa de Flores Mobile Home Park recreation room at 701 E. Lassen Avenue, Chico,
CA
