Carol Denna Obituary

Carol June Denna passed away July 13th, 2021 in Red Bluff, CA. She was born September 16th, 1940 in Susanville, CA to Tom and Della Hyatt. She was the 2nd of 9 children.

June was born into a big loving family, which meant she had built in best friends for life. Her sisters and little brother stood by her side until the end.

One of the best days of her life was when she married the love of her life, Gus Denna, in 1957 in Reno, NV.  Her granddaughters have fond memories of bedtime stories where Grandma June would softly rub their back and tell the story of how Grandpa Gus saved Grandma and brought her to a big castle in his red corvette, where they lived happily ever after. He truly was her Prince Charming.

If you knew June, you loved her. Her gentle soul and open heart was what made her so easy to love.

The Denna home was home to so many thru the years. Their home was always open to whoever needed some love.  May it be the boys after football practice, to the friends that the boys brought home… She made sure that everyone was welcomed by a home cooked meal and loved. Her loving heart didn’t stop there… When her house was full she still found a place in her heart to take in foster kids who were shown love beyond anything they could imagine.  To June, everyone was family and regardless of your situation, you deserved to be loved.  We can all say that we are better humans because she showed us how to love unconditionally.

Besides family, June also had many things that brought a smile to her face. Halloween!  She dressed up every year and loved watching scary movies. Country music was also a constant… She loved Randy Travis and Reba and anyone who sang from their heart.  Her grandkids fondly remember her singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”.

June is survived by so many of us who have been blessed with her support and pure love. No words can explain how she touched each and everyone of us in her own way. That wink she would give us when we needed it the most, was everything!!!

We can all find strength in this incredible woman who endured more than we can imagine.

She is welcomed into Heaven by Gus, her three sons, Hootie, Darrin, and Taz.. and her sister Doodle who we believe called her home. She grieved for so long. She collected angel figurines and now she is amongst the angels, she got her wings. She now can fly high and protect us all now like she always did.

While she gets to heaven there are so many loved ones she leaves behind… her two surviving children, Maynard and Michelle (Dave). Her Grandchildren Anjulie (Matt), Roald, Kenny (Perry) , Mitchell, Kjell, Atila,  Amber (Richard), Kaytlyn (Dustin), Chelsea (Blake), Haylee, Heather (Dustin), Rylee, Angela (Mark), Kindra , Dyllan, and Bradley and 13 great grandchildren.  Also daughters she gained from her boys… Hannah, Lisa, Pam and Dana.

June also leaves behind her best friends in life… her sisters Shirley, Lavonne, Lolo (Fred), Donna, Punky, Kathy(David) and her baby brother Tommy, his wife, Teri, and brother in law Leon.

We can all  find comfort knowing that her life here on earth is complete and that her castle in the sky is awaiting her arrival. Right now she and her Prince Charming are together. That is what she has wanted for so long.

It’s hard to “celebrate” the loss of a loved one, but for June, she has left each and everyone of us with loving memories and she is where she has wanted to be for a long time. With Gus.
