Betty Louise Bryson

Betty Louise Smith Bryson passed away Saturday, September 13 th , 2025, after a
courageous battle with lung cancer. Betty was born December 10, 1941 to David and
Marjorie Smith. She lived her entire life in Oroville, California where she attended
elementary school and graduated from Oroville High School in 1959. Betty was a
devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She
cherished her family and all the wonderful memories she had over the years. Family
vacations and get togethers were her favorite, and she always was ready to go
somewhere. Her two favorite places to go were the mountains and the ocean. Betty was
known for her baby blankets that she would make for all the new babies as they came
along, and for some old kids as well, including beautiful quilts. Betty leaves behind her
two sons, Scott (Sheila) Damon, Brian (Lisa) Washburn, five grandchildren Ashley
(Doug) George, Drew Damon, Lolly Damon, Shelby (Chayce) Maday, Brock (Taylor)
Washburn, nine great grandchildren, her brother Don (Jan) Smith, sister Phyllis (Ralph)
Jamison and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her
parents, Dave and Marjorie Smith, who she adored and missed greatly. A graveside
service in memory of Betty will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 at 10:30 am at the
Memorial Park Cemetery, 5640 Lincoln Blvd., Oroville with a reception to follow at the
Church of the Nazarene, 2238 Monte Vista Avenue, Oroville. In lieu of flowers,
