Anna Louise (Kelly) Morse

Anna Louise Kelly was born on November 23, 1928 in Moline, Illinois.  Her father was
John Henry Kelly and her mother was Esther Mary Elizabeth Peterson.  Anna had three
siblings, her brother John, sisters, Mary and June who have all preceded her in death.
Growing up on the Mississippi River she rowed the boat and helped bring in the fish with
her dad.  Her father a welder by trade worked on several dams before moving the family
to Oroville.  He and his wife then built the Whitmill Restaurant and Bar.  As a
teenager, Anna put on the roller skates and delivered burgers and shakes to the cars in
the parking lot.
She met her husband Wilbert “Bill” Morse at Oroville High School.  They were married on 
March 24, 1949.  Bill preceded her in death in 1996.
Anna is survived by her son, John Westly Morse, his wife Glennda Morse, four
grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Kimberly and Stephanie, and nine great-grandchildren,
MIkey, John, Sam, Isabella, Nikki, Noah, Sophia, Zeke and Maia.  And numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Anna worked for Pacific Coast Producers Cannery in Oroville.  While there she met some
of her best lifelong friends.  She was famous for making wedding cakes for friends,
organizing potlucks and parties.  Everyone has enjoyed her baked beans, 7 layer dip and
strawberry poppy seed cake.  In her later years she enjoyed making knotted blankets
and stringing bead necklaces but her favorite place to be was Bucks Lake where she and Bill spent their summers fishing and swimming.  She passed along her love of the outdoors to her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She is and always will be missed but her memories will always live on in all of our hearts.  We know she is back with Bill now at peace in the afterlife.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 12th at 12 Noon at Scheer Memorial Chapel 2410 Foothill Blvd., Oroville, CA 95966.  A Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11th from 1-5 PM also at Scheer.
