Alex Paul Buchmiller
06/21/1949-07/15/2021
Chico, California
Alex passed away after a short battle with cancer. He was born on 6/21/1949 to Wilbert (Jinx) and Bernadine Buchmiller in Highland, Illinois. Alex had a twin brother, Eric Buchmiller, who died two days after their birth. Alex, his brother Barry, and their parents relocated to Long Beach, CA in 1963 to be closer to Alex’s older sister Jeanene. He attended David Starr Jordan High School in North Long Beach and graduated in 1967. He worked for the VA Hospital in Long Beach until he moved to Oroville, CA in 1979. He worked at various jobs before retiring and relocating to Chico in 2005. Alex was a very social guy and was always involved with different activities and hobbies. Over the years he enjoyed bowling, billiards, playing the organ and keyboard, photography, line dancing, and karaoke. He was a volunteer at Bidwell Park for many years and loved telling stories about the park. He is survived by his brother Barry Buchmiller, sister-in-law Pat Buchmiller, nieces Trisha Whitbread (Brian), Dena Stephen (Ben), Erin Safford, nephew Steven Hill, great nieces Hannah, Maddie, Kelly and great nephews Jordan and Christopher. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
