Alden Bill Purcell

Alden “Bill” William Purcell, 86, of Oroville, CA, passed away on August 3, 2019.

A graveside service will be held at Paradise Cemetery, 980 Elliott Road, Paradise CA 95966, at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 8, 2010. He was born July 10, 1933, in Willits, CA, to Alden and Martha Purcell.  He moved to Chico, CA in 1952, where he met his best friend Roy Hale who was with him in his final days.  In 1953, Bill married the love of his life and wife of 55 years Norma (Black) Purcell.  In 1956, he started his lifelong career with UPS and retired after 40 years.  He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Hernandez, Jeanette Barrera, and Koren Jernigan all of Oroville; son-in-law, Kevin Jernigan; siblings, Lucy Watson of Texas, Candy Furlong and Bernard Purcell both of CA; 7 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Elaine Purcell (Black) and siblings, Wanda Sites of Arizona and Ron Purcell of CA.
