Alan Rigg Obituary

ALAN RIGG

Alan Rigg, well-known and beloved musician, found
his home on the ridge nearly twenty years ago,
relocating from New Orleans following Hurricane
Katrina. Alan was known for his infectious laugh,
colorful music-themed shirts, huge heart and
incredible musical talent. Alan felt most at home on
stage and he and his band, The Alan Rigg Band,
played his last gig just days before his unfortunate
passing. Alan loved his community and valued his
friendships above all else, human and animal alike.
Alan has gone home to be with his beloved dog,
Maggie, and the many friends who have gone
before him and is survived by his equally beloved
dog, Tipitina “Tippy”, his many friends and the
community he loved so dearly.
Despite his incredible talent and musical
experience, Alan was a humble man who enjoyed
living a simple life. He was often heard saying, “I’m
not a wealthy man, but when it comes to friends, I’m
a billionaire!” Alan had a magical way of bringing
people together. This was especially evidenced by
the number of musicians who performed with him
over the years.
Alan had been looking forward to his 70th birthday
party that he planned for March 19th. Instead, with
his New Orleans spirit fully intact and as a last
request, Alan told his friends to be sure and have
the party he planned and make it the biggest and
best ever. Please join those who enjoyed, admired
and loved Alan the man and musician on Sunday,
March 19th to celebrate him at the Paradise
Lutheran Church Recreation Hall at 11:30am. 780
Luther Drive (Off Skyway past Elliott Rd)
“I’m saying good-bye, my friends...I love all you...if
not for saying hello I never would’ve gotten to say
good-bye” – Alan Rigg, 2/24/23
