Victoria M Stempel

Victoria (Vickie) Stempel went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2018. The only child of William and Betty Rollert, Vickie was born on April 14, 1941, in Luverne, Minnesota. When Vickie was nine her father died, and she moved with her mother from Sioux Falls, SD, to be with family in Spokane, WA. While in Spokane she attended Lewis ft Clark High School and enjoyed being in the marching band and Loved her summers spending time with her cousin in Wenatchee, WA. Vickie married Gary Stempel in 1962 and worked for a time at Colyear Motor Sales after marriage.
Shortly thereafter, Gary’s work took him to California where they Lived in Oakland and eventually settled in Oroville. She worked for Butte County for 25 years total, mostly in the Recorder’s Office. In the 49 years Vickie lived in Oroville she raised two daughters, Julie of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Jill of Oroville. The family enjoyed numerous trips to Fort Bragg, CA.
She Loved her church family at the Oroville Church of the Nazarene and spending time in the Kingham Life Group.
Her family wishes to thank the wonderful people from UC Davis Medical Center and Advanced Hospice who helped with Vickie the Last couple of months.
Vickie is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna, and a son, Stephen. She is survived by her husband, Gary, daughters Julie Foland (Greg) and Jill Walborn (Darrell), two grandchildren, Amanda and Kyle Walborn, sister-in-Love Jan Foland (Dennis), brother-in-law Dennis Stempel (Myra); cousins Connie McTighe (Beau), Richard Top (Millie), Marlys and Susan, nieces River and Renee, and nephew Brian.
Vickie was a selfless, nurturing, loving daughter, wife, mom, grandma, mother-in-law, aunt and cousin. She will be forever missed.
A memorial service WIll be held on Friday, September 7, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Oroville Church of the Nazarene, 2238 Monte Vista Avenue, Oroville, with a reception to follow.
