Richard Brown Obituary

Richard Newton Brown known to many as Bud Brown, 85 from Paradise, CA passed away on May 11, 2018 at 9:06pm at Cypress Meadows.  He was born February 23, 1933 to Newton and Desyl Brown in Bakersfield, CA.  He attended school there and later met and married his first wife Shirley.  They moved to the bay area and had three children John, Robin and Kelly.  Bud joined the Army in 1954 and served in the Korean Conflict.  In 1965 he met and married his second wife Marilyn and had one child, James.  They moved to Paradise in 1966 where he started the Skyway Cab Company and also served as Sheriff.  In 1970 he worked with the Paradise Recreation and Parks District helping to maintain all of the areas parks which he really enjoyed.  In August 1980 he began working with Aero Union Corporation in Chico through his retirement in 1998.  Bud loved wood working, especially making furniture for children.  He frequently visited the desert finding ghost towns and collected antiques.  He was a regular at Jack in the Box, keeping to his routine and enjoying his coffee.  Other hobbies were building a biplane in his garage, restoring his old pickup truck, built a dune buggy to drive around town and even was a race car driver.  He was a collector of many things and would seem to always have what you needed.   He was a very kind and giving man, always there to help anyone with a need no matter how big or small.  A Celebration of Life will be held on June 3, 2018 at Bille Park, 501 Bille Road, Paradise CA from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  There will be a pot luck BBQ and time for everyone to share their memories of Bud.  Link to Facebook event page:  https://www.facebook.com/events/604028803292560/
