Iva Melissa Lucas was born in Gore, Oklahoma on Oct. 31, 1923. Iva went to her glory as she wished, silent sleep and at peace on Nov. 17.
She lived in Paradise 22 years with pride at the Plantation Retirement Community. Her homestead was in Salinas, CA with her late husband Raleigh of 52 years of marriage and 5 children. She is survived by her son Randy, daughter-in-law Michelle; granddaughters Tiffany Gilbert, Shelbie Cheffet, Tia Lucas; grandsons Sean Lucas, Jeff Lucas; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Iva was cousin to country music legend Buck Owens. No mother should have to bare the loss of their children, but she lost 3. Sadly, a week after her own passing, her 4th child, Shirley, passed away. The love of family is life's greatest blessing.
She loved current affairs, country music, puzzle books, gardening, Good Will shopping, Dr. Phil, and the
Grand Ole Opry. Her life was love and labour. A simple life, lived well, and shared with love.
The Lucas family extends their gratitude to Paradise Hospice House, Cypress Meadows, and Feather Canyon Retirement Community for their loving kindness and friendship of Iva.
