Welcome to the memorial page for

Daniel Scot Riley

September 2, 1987 ~ September 26, 2017 (age 30) 30 Years Old

Daniel Scot Riley, age 30, lifelong resident of Paradise, lost his life September 26, 2017. The circumstances of his passing were sudden and unexpected leaving his family in a state of shock and grief. Daniel known as “Dee” was born September 2, 1987 to Georgia (Vann) and the late Patrick Scot Riley.

He graduated from Paradise High School in 2006. He had a lifelong passion for import cars and motorcycles. When he completed the ROP auto mechanic program, he frequently called friends to make sure their cars were running, and repair them if they needed help. Dee worked in various jobs the last 10 years. He was in the process of returning to college to obtain his welding certificate at the time of his death.

Friends, family, and animals were the sustenance of Dee’s life. He was known for his generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. Dee was always the first to help anyone in need. When leaving work one night, a woman had spent her last few dollars on her dinner. She came out to find her car had been vandalized and the tire lug nuts taken. Dee went to the auto store, bought the parts and placed them and made sure the car was safe to drive. This is the kind and caring person he was. He was always offering a kind word and pleasant conversation.

Dee was most proud to be “Uncle Dee,” to nephews Scotty and Jaxon Riley. Dee leaves behind his loving mother and father Georgia and Tulsa Hill. Brothers Noah Riley of Chico, Beau and (sister in law) Michele Riley of Tehama, Jordan Kruger of Paradise, Chris Kruger of Chico, Brent Kruger of Chico, and TC Hill of Paradise. Sisters Janine Kruger of Paradise, Melissa Hill of Portland, Oregon, Sherrie Bartley of Lincoln, and Courtney Berry of Indiana. He also leaves behind his beloved nephews Scot and Jaxon Riley of Tehama, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Grandfather Charles Vann of Redwood City and Romaine Riley of Chico. Beloved dogs Lily, Ellie, Lincoln, and Cooper and cats Joe, Bella, Stevie, and  Achilles
