Bonnie Peppas Obituary

            Bonnie B. Peppas, 91, passed away Friday, February 16th at Cypress Meadows Post- Acute facility in Paradise after a brief battle with pneumonia.

            Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 27th at Rose Chapel Funeral Home in Paradise.  Pastor Kearns of the First Christian of Church of Chico will officiate.  She will be buried in Paradise Cemetery alongside her husband of 55 years, Thomas S. Peppas who preceded her in death, October 14, 2001.

            Bonnie was born September 26, 1926 in Boone, Iowa.  She graduate from Boone High School and attended Nursing School in Des Moines.  There she met the love of her life, Tom Peppas and they married on June 2, 1947.  They moved to Marysville in 1949.  There she graduated from Yuba Jr. College and started her teaching career, while also attending Sac State getting her Master’s Degree.  Bonnie and Tom started their family of three children; Tom, Chrystal and Chris (Skip), and moved to Paradise in 1963.  There Bonnie taught at Paradise Elementary and then Ponderosa Elementary when it opened.  While teaching she assisted her husband in starting and building the First Christian Church of Paradise.  Bonnie took an early retirement in 1974 to care for her husband who had health issues.  She enjoyed family, camping, and traveling.  She especially enjoyed her 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

            Bonnie is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; Tom and Kathy Peppas of Paradise, Chrystal and Bob McFarlane of Menifee and Chris (Skip) and Sandy Peppas of Chico.

            She is survived by 5 grandchildren: Seth and Suzy Peppas and Ali Peppas of Chico; Jeremy and Sheila Peppas Craft, Dereck and Larissa Peppas and Kevin and Crystal Peppas all of Paradise.

            She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; Tyson Nelson, Angeleen Peppas, Dylan Peppas, Nick Peppas, Jaylah Craft, Olivia Peppas, Dorian Peppas, Gideon Craft, Henry Scharff, Jack Peppas, Aleecya Craft, Violet Scharff, Malachi Craft.

     The family would like to invite friends to join us after the service at Kevin and Crystal Peppas' home, 180 Valley View Dr., Paradise.
