December 14, 1943 ~ November 26, 2019 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Adolph Lambach, Jr. Obituary

Adolph “Dan” Lambach, Jr. passed away peacefully with his family in Reno, Nevada on November 26th, 2019, following a heroic struggle with cancer at the young age of 75.  He was born on December 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois.  He moved to California in his youth with his family, where he met the love of his life and wife of almost 53 years, Penny (Willoughby).  Dan retired to Quincy, California where he lived with his family for 32 years.

Dan was a dedicated husband and father and pursued a lifelong call to serve in his community as a Los Angeles Police Motor Officer for 21+ years.  He continued his public service after retirement from the LAPD through his work with the Plumas County Sheriff’s department.  Dan retired from his “second” career from one of his favorite shops: Ace hardware in Portola. He loved to work with his Ace Hardware crew, who shared his love of anything hardware, tasty donuts and quick sense of wit.

All who knew Dan were welcomed with his friendly smile and his sometimes colorful words of humor. He was quick to lend a hand if you needed it and would often touch people with his kindness and thoughtful remarks. He was an avid collector of Model A’s, anything rusty related to cars and shared many memories with his Feather River A’s car club.

Some of his favorite road trips were participating in car shows, looking for old hot rods and picking up new car parts at the swap meets across the state with his cousin, Mark.  He loved all things sugar and considered it an important part of his diet, if not a “food group”.

He is survived by his loving wife, Penny, his 3 daughters: Sandra Swisher and his son in law, Martin Swisher, Julia Barker and his son in law Kevin Barker, Windi Lambach and his granddaughter, Hannah Lambach, his Sister Norma Smith and her family, his brother in law, Theodore Willoughby, his close cousin Mark Anderson and his wife Debbie Anderson with many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Dan, beloved husband, father and friend, will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him deeply.
