John Henry Johnson IV

January 20, 1985 - February 23, 2024

John Henry Johnson IV, a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, passed away very peacefully and went to Heaven on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Enloe Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 20, 1985, at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. He came into this world 9 weeks early, weighing under 3lbs, and was in the NICU for 8 months before he was able to come home. He lived in Paradise his entire life and graduated from Ridgeview High School with honors. He worked caring for adults with special needs for over 15 years, loved his vocation, and was an advocate for his clients. 

He had huge, beautiful blue eyes that danced when he laughed and an ear-to-ear smile that lit up his whole face. His laugh was infectious, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He also enjoyed playing tricks on people, especially his mom. He loved his friends and family fiercely and was the best uncle. He was genuinely interested in what was going on in everyone's life and was always the one to call or text to say hi. He was kind, caring, loving, funny, humble, giving, brave, and strong, and he lived his life exactly the way he wanted to and without worry. He loved to be around family and friends, go to concerts, comedy shows, the movie theater, and on trips. Metallica was one of his favorite bands, and he was so excited when he got to meet James Hetfield.

He battled brain cancer bravely for over 12 years without ever complaining. He was a fighter from the day he took his first breath until the day he took his last one. His battle has ended, and we are grateful that he is at peace. He will forever be loved and missed. 

John is survived by his parents Kevin and Annette Kriebel, sister Nicole Maletic, brother-in-law Whit Maletic, Nephew Parker Maletic, Niece Chanelle Maletic, uncle Kenny Johnson, and grandparents Bill and Marsha Teague. He was preceded in death by his father John Johnson III and his brother Robert Johnson.  

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 10:30 am, followed by burial at Paradise Cemetery. His Celebration of Life will be held at Terry Ashe Recreation Center on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at noon.
